  This used to be a pretty good carvery, and a regular haunt for many people I know, but it has recently refurbished and now serves pizza too. It feels bizarre, and it also messes up the queuing system as people in the pizza queue mix with the carvery queue and everyone just gets in in other's way!
  
  It's a real shame, and it feels like they've ruined a perfectly good carvery. Now they're trying to do too much, and none of it is done very well. Pity.

  Slow service, left looking lost on arrival as like Mary Celeste in the bar, one server completely ignored us until we asked how it all works and even then had to wait for her to get someone else. Asked if wanted mushrooms, as they are cooked to order (despite it being a buffet breakfast?!) Coffee weak, toaster didn't cook on first run through and then cremated it second run through. Options for breakfast very poor, not a big choice (unless you have salad with your breakfast!) like they suggest on the menu or website. Better breakfast for same money elsewhere.

  I hate giving bad reviews but I have to be honest, whilst the carvery is pretty cheap I felt the food quality had gone down since we last came about a year ago. Cauliflower cheese was overcooked and lacked any discernable cheese, peas were shrivelled, Yorkshire pudding was cold, mashed potato tasted odd and was gluey (overworked). We got there early so it wasn't due to the food standing out for too long. The beef was lovely though and the staff were nice. If I go again I'd probably try one of the pizzas or burgers instead.
